Mock Shwarma

shwarma

Ingredients

2 tablespoons canola oil
2 pounds chicken fajitas (skinless, boneless, chicken breasts, cut into strips)
2 brown onions, sliced
2 tablespoons shwarma seasoning

Preparation

Sauté chicken in oil until no longer pink. Add onions and continue to sauté. Sprinkle generously with seasoning and cooking until well absorbed. Serve inside pita with humus and tehina and Israeli salad.

    This was delicious. I made this for Shabbos with lots of salads and toasted pita. It was a wonderful summer meal.

    What are brown onions? Do you mean the regular ones with brown skin?

    What is the brand of Shwarma seasoning? Is it easy to find?

      I use a brand made by Pereg USA. It’s easily available in the kosher markets in Los Angeles. I don’t know about anywhere else although I have discovered that almost everything is available online!
