Mock Shwarma



2 tablespoons canola oil
2 pounds chicken fajitas (skinless, boneless, chicken breasts, cut into strips)
2 brown onions, sliced
2 tablespoons shwarma seasoning


Sauté chicken in oil until no longer pink. Add onions and continue to sauté. Sprinkle generously with seasoning and cooking until well absorbed. Serve inside pita with humus and tehina and Israeli salad.

    • I use a brand made by Pereg USA. It’s easily available in the kosher markets in Los Angeles. I don’t know about anywhere else although I have discovered that almost everything is available online!

      • I have recently tried this recipe with Prima Spice’s Schwarma Seasoning and it was absolutley delicious! It is easy to find in any supermarket too.
