After years of struggling with carving a turkey, I now buy the pieces separately – turkey breast and 2 legs.
1 (3-5 pound) turkey breast and 2 large legs
2 teaspoons garlic
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
½-1 cup coffee liqueur
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place turkey breast and thighs in a large roasting pan and sprinkle with spices. Roast for ½ hour uncovered. Remove from oven and pour ½-2/3 cup coffee liqueur over turkey. Cover and return to oven for 3 to 4 hours. Halfway through cooking, remove foil and baste with pan juices. You can add more liqueur, then if desired. Recover and return to oven. Allow to sit for about ½ hour before slicing.
