Lamb and Barley Cholent

1 (4 to 5 pound) lamb shoulder roast
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon pepper
1 (29 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 onion, chopped
1-1/2 cups barley
Water to cover

Place all ingredients in crock pot before Shabbos. Cook on low heat until ready to serve Shabbos day.
